Cartojal Málaga
Cartojal is a naturally sweet wine with Denominación de Origen Málaga, very popular especially during the annual local festivities in the region. It is made from Moscatel de Alejandría gapes, grown in Axarquía and Zona Norte, finca Vista Hermosa (Fuente de Piedra). Grapes are harvested at the optimum stage of maturity. Then they are destemmed and carefully pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 15º C.
Tasting notes
Pale golden color, clean and bright. Aromas of flowers with citric hints. On the mouth it is fresh, sweet and fruity. Very well balanced. Best served at a temperature between 6º 8º C. 15% ABV.
Winery
Bodegas Málaga Virgen was founded in 1885 by Francisco and Salvador López López. They make wine with Denominación de Origen Málaga and Sierra de Málaga. In their vineyards they grown different grape varieties, such as Pedro Ximenez, Moscatel, Chardonnay and Syrah.
