Vega Sicilia Único

Unico is a stunning red wine, with Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero, made from a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, grown in the oldest vineyards in Valbuena de Duero, by the Duero river. This wine goes through what is probably the world's longest ageing of a red wine. Vega Sicilia was founded im 1864 by Eloy Lecanda, and even though it has had several owners throughout history, is has always maintained its prestige and character. In 1982 it was acquired by the Álvarez family.

Fermentation takes place is wood tanks at a controlled temperature and using native yeast. It is left to mature for over 10 years, a period of time unusually long for a red wine, between wood and bottle, using American and French wood, new and used 225-litre barrels and 20,000-litre vats.

Ruby red colour with orange hues. Complex, silky and elegant on the palate. Best served at a temperature of 16º C, along with game, such as boar, deer, roe deer, red meat, grilled and roasted meat or roast lamb. 14.5% ABV.
