La Ola del Melillero
La Ola del Melillero is a unique dry white wine with Denominación de Origen Sierras de Málaga, made with Pedro Ximénez (70%) and Moscatel (30%) grapes grown locally. Pedro Ximénez grapes are grown in Montes de Málaga (Mountains of Málaga), in seven 30 to 100 year-old plots of land, 1000 meters above sea level. Moscatel grapes are grown in seven plots of land, located in Alta Axarquía, 700 meters above sea level. Bodegas Victoria Ordóñez was founded in Málaga in 2015. This winery aims to make wine of the highest quality using artisanal production techniques, globally know as “garage wine”.
How it is made
Grapes are handpicked and preserved at low temperature. 40% of the grapes are left to ferment in new French oak casks, and the rest in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Aging takes place for 8 months.
Tasting notes
Pale straw colour. Refreshing aroma of white flowers. Very well balanced on the mouth and complex at the same time, round body. Best served cold, with fish, seafood, rice, vegetables and meat. 13,5% ABV.
